I was really excited to try The Taco Spot in St. Charles after seeing all the great photos online, but I left disappointed. The Blazin Balls were soggy and packed with so much cilantro. On the plus side, the customer service was good and the place was clean, but overall, the food just didn’t live up to the hype.

Great food and friendly staff. We got the birria burrito, surf & turf burrito, and the loaded fries. Everything was flavorful and delicious. You can tell it was made with care. I'll definitely be back here to try more things.

I had been wanting to check out Taco Spot since I heard a birria ramen eatery had opened in the local area. Upon entry the restaurant was crowded, warm, and humid. Seating is available in dining room and outside. The staff were friendly. I ordered birria tacos, birria pizza, birria ramen, birria quesadilla, a bean and cheese burrito, and an agua fresca. I must admit the agua fresca was refreshing on such a hot and humid day. The Birria Tacos and consommé were rather simple in flavor, mostly salty and onion forward. The birria pizza which was essentially a layered quesabirria came with consommé, pickled jalepenos, and nacho cheese, the flavors were simple here as well, the nacho cheese was overly salty, akin to Rico’s canned nacho cheese sauce, the pickled jalapeños were the highlight when it came to the birria pizza. The birria quesadilla was essentially the same experience as the birria pizza, but on a smaller scale, with no jalapeño or nacho cheese. The birria ramen was a delightful contrast to the birria options, the broth, combined with the birria, ramen, and onions, really brought more complexity in the flavor that was presented, to note the onions on most of the birria dishes were raw, the fact that the ramen broth cooked the onions and released the locked in flavor, really helped elevate the birria ramen experience. The bean burrito had a solid amount of refried beans and was filled with cheese, nothing amazing about the beans or cheese flavor wise, however it will please someone looking for a simple bean and cheese burrito. Overall the experience was solid but the tastes and offerings could be improved, the prices were a little high for the offerings, the location was a bit overcrowded, I’d describe it as a middling birria experience. The only stand out and reason I’d recommend checking out Taco Spot is the birria ramen.

Very clean. Very welcoming. Then we tried the food...... IT, WAS...... BEAUTIFUL!! We so approve of this quality. My kids loved the quesadillas. That's always a plus. TEX / Mex approved.

We got the Birria Ramen/2 Birria Tacos and 2 street tacos for lunch. I LOVE Birria tacos so I was really looking forward to it. Place was packed. After our order, the line behind us had the wait line for 30 to 45 minutes and they ran out of everything except Birria. Food was good, but pricey. The Birria Ramen is just an instant bowl of Tapatio noodles with a little bit of birria beef in it... and that's $15. Tacos are $3 to $5 each so that's not too bad. The Mango Magic (mango slushie) looked awesome but I didn't get it. The Tacospot is good, but I can think of several local Mexican restaurants that are better. They do have some TikTok friendly food that people will enjoy.

Birria Tacos tasted pretty good. Just about the correct amount of meat, they just split open at the bottom. Ramen birria was plentiful on the meat. Prices are a bit high. Agua Fresca melon? was good. Horchata was a bit too watered down
